Before we dive in, it’s important to acknowledge that we can’t awaken all at once. Our psyche and body simply cannot handle it—it could even be harmful. This is why awakening is usually a gradual process, and why everyone progresses in their own time. Some rare individuals experience spontaneous awakenings, but they are most likely prepared for such an experience.

We don’t all go through the same activations at the same time. Some are further along in this journey, but that doesn’t mean you’re behind. Your higher self knows exactly what you are ready for and what you can handle at any moment.

Also, be aware that awakening isn’t the same as manifesting abundance or following new age trends. Real spiritual awakening is much deeper—it’s about aligning with your true self.

10 Ways To Support Your Spiritual Awakening

While we can’t force an awakening, we can create the conditions to stay on track. Here are ten ways to help you deepen your spiritual journey:

1. Embrace Stillness (Meditation)

Stillness is one of the most powerful tools for awakening. Taking quiet time to tune into yourself allows you to receive insights that are easily missed when distracted.

  • Sit quietly for meditation or rest in complete silence

  • Try meditating in the dark or with an eye pillow to deepen self-awareness

  • Support the opening of your third eye, enhancing intuition and higher consciousness

Action: Practice 10–20 minutes (or more) of stillness daily and notice what arises without judgment. Read my other article ‘3 Gentle Practices to Try Before You Start Meditating’.

2. Reduce Distractions

The closer you are to your higher self, the easier it is to awaken. Distractions—social media, noise, or endless tasks—pull you away from your inner guidance.

  • Spend time without phone or screen distractions

  • Focus on your inner world and present moment awareness

Action: Dedicate at least one hour daily to being fully present, free from external interruptions. For more read my article ‘Distracted by Everything? Here’s How to Find Yourself Again’.

3. Minimize Technology

Technology can interfere with your energy and block higher consciousness. EMFs, digital screens, and even mainstream music can affect your vibration.

  • Limit phone and computer usage

  • Turn off Wi-Fi at night or use wired internet

  • Explore EMF protection tools like a Somavedic, shielding blankets, or clothing

  • Avoid mainstream music; choose alternative or frequency-conscious music

Action: Create a tech-light environment to support your inner connection. For more tips about the impact of Social Media & Your Wellbeing click here.

4. Simplify Your Life (Minimalism)

Less stuff equals more space—for energy, attention, and awareness.

  • Declutter regularly and release attachments

  • Sometimes we hold on to things because they once gave us a sense of security

  • Every object carries energy; by decluttering, you create more space and clarity

Start small: let go of old items and notice what shifts within you.

5. Connect with Nature

Nature restores, grounds, and opens your awareness. Even short daily walks can:

  • Deepen connection to your body and present moment

  • Spark insights and realizations

  • Support physical and energetic restoration

Action: Spend at least 20–30 minutes in nature daily, ideally alone, observing and breathing. Read here more about ‘The Forgotten Power of Observation’.

6. Honor Your Body

Your body is your partner in awakening. A clear, healthy body helps channel higher consciousness and prevents distractions from physical discomfort.

  • Eat nourishing, clean foods

  • Stay active and move your body daily

  • Detox naturally and care for your body holistically

Action: Listen to your body’s needs—when it’s nourished and cared for, awakening flows more easily. Read here ‘7 Types of Holistic Rest for Optimum Health and Energy’.

7. Study with Discernment

Awakening doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out alone. Learning from others is valuable—but discernment is key.

  • Choose teachings and mentors that truly expand consciousness

  • Avoid content that distracts or loops you in confusion

  • Open-mindedness + discernment = superpowers in your awakening journey

Action: Curate the information you consume; focus only on what supports growth and clarity. For more tips read my article ‘Real Awakening vd False Awakening’.

8. Practice Spiritual Hygiene

As your sensitivity grows, energies around you can influence your state. Spiritual hygiene helps you maintain energetic sovereignty.

  • Set daily intentions to clear your energy field

  • Return energy that isn’t yours “to sender” (even if you don’t know where it’s coming from)

  • Be aware of everything that lives within you — your thoughts, your body, your emotions, and your inner core — so you can consciously maintain your energy

Tip: Even just five minutes of daily energy cleansing helps you maintain your inner calm. Click here for more about creating a Spiritual Hygiene routine.

9. Release Survival Stress (Trauma)

True awakening is about letting go of what stands in your way — old wounds, limiting beliefs, and anything that blocks your energy.

There are several tools that can support you along the way:

  • Shadow work: explore the parts of yourself you’ve hidden or ignored

  • Somatic work & nervous system regulation: release tension held in the body

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique): can help process emotions

Tip: discover which tools work best for you and use them regularly. This slowly creates space for more light and inner growth.

10. Work with Your Ego

Your ego is a part of yourself, but when it takes over, it can limit your awareness and block heart-centered decisions.

    • Observe how your ego influences your thoughts and actions

    • Make choices from your heart rather than from fear or attachment to things

    • Remember: the heart is a gateway to higher consciousness

Tip: Discover the 7 Hidden Blind Spots of Your Ego

Final Note: Rinse and Repeat

Consistency is key. Practice these steps regularly to support your spiritual growth and maintain your balance.

  • Build routines, but keep them light and enjoyable

  • Take good care of yourself: rest, play, and do activities that connect you with your body and reality

  • Accept that feeling stuck or facing resistance is normal

True awakening requires dedication, but every step brings you closer to your authentic self.
